The government has announced a significant increase in the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) allowance for pre-tertiary teachers, doubling the amount from GHC1,200 to GHC2,400 annually for professional teachers. Non-professional teachers will also see an increase, with their allowance rising from GHC800 to GHC1,200.
This announcement was made by the Ministry of Education in a statement on Monday, September 30, 2024. The ministry confirmed that the increased payments have already been disbursed to eligible teachers.
The Ministry emphasized that this enhancement reflects the government’s commitment to professional growth and skills development, aligning with its broader agenda to invest in human capital.
