Government Doubles Professional Teachers’ Allowances from GHC1,200 to GHC2,400

The government has announced a significant increase in the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) allowance for pre-tertiary teachers, doubling the amount from GHC1,200 to GHC2,400 annually for professional teachers. Non-professional teachers will also see an increase, with their allowance rising from GHC800 to GHC1,200.

This announcement was made by the Ministry of Education in a statement on Monday, September 30, 2024. The ministry confirmed that the increased payments have already been disbursed to eligible teachers.
