Gospel Singer Arrested with Human H.ead

Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, a man purported to be a gospel musician, was arrested in Orozo, Nigeria, after being found with a decapitated human head in a black nylon bag during a church service on Sunday.

The shocking incident occurred during a Thanksgiving service marking the end of a seven-day fast at the church. According to Caleb Umaru, the church’s Bible Study Teacher and General Secretary, Ajayi’s suspicious behavior first drew the attention of a member, Brother Victor, who saw him behaving strangely near a nearby river.

Brother Victor observed Ajayi carrying a bag and moving oddly, prompting him to alert another church member, Brother Amos. The two approached Ajayi, who was seated at the back of the church. Upon confrontation, Ajayi threw the bag into the river, claiming it contained nothing.

Suspicion heightened when two motorcyclists arrived at the scene, one revealing that he had transported Ajayi from a neighboring town and noticed blood dripping from the bag.

When pressed to retrieve the bag, Ajayi attempted to flee. A long chase ensued, ending in a bush where church members, with the help of others, apprehended him.

Upon retrieving the bag, it was found to contain the severed head of a young woman, later identified as Ajayi’s girlfriend.

During police interrogation, Ajayi confessed to killing her following a heated argument over her phone. He claimed she attacked him with a knife, injuring his hand, and in retaliation, he stabbed her in the neck.

Further adding to the macabre details, Ajayi alleged that “a woman” instructed him to bring the head to her, though he did not elaborate.
