President-elect John Dramani Mahama has urged National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters to intensify their prayers, highlighting the need for greater spiritual commitment now than during the campaign period.
Speaking at a gathering of party supporters, Mr. Mahama emphasized the importance of seeking divine guidance to provide the strength and wisdom necessary for implementing policies aimed at improving the lives of all Ghanaians.
“This is the time we need to engage in fervent prayers more than we did during the campaign for God to grant us the strength and wisdom to implement measures that will make Ghana a better place to live. All I will say is that it is finished; God has already done it,” Mahama declared.
The President-elect accused the outgoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of leaving behind significant debts in critical sectors such as education and energy, describing them as traps intended to sabotage his administration.
“The NPP government has set a trap for us. But we shall not be caught in that trap; we will escape unscathed. The Almighty God who granted us electoral victory will see us through the difficulties ahead until we achieve success. God will give us the wisdom to lead this country and make it better for future generations,” Mahama stated.
Despite the challenges, Mr. Mahama expressed confidence that his administration, with divine assistance, would overcome the obstacles and improve the country for future generations.
He also addressed concerns over delays in disbursing funds to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), referencing a recent Facebook post that criticized the postponement of financial support.
As Ghana faces mounting crises, the President-elect called for unity and resilience, emphasizing the critical role of faith and determination in navigating the nation’s path to recovery.
