#GhanaPolls2024: One Person Shot Dead in Nyankpala Over Alleged Vote Buying

A fatal shooting occurred at the entrance of the UDS Nyankpala campus in the Tolon constituency of the Northern Region, leaving one person dead and another critically injured.

The violence reportedly broke out after a heated argument between NPP Northern Regional Organizer Alhaji Rashid Salifu and NDC parliamentary candidate Dr. Osman Tahiru Damba over alleged vote buying.

Eyewitnesses claim the confrontation escalated into gunfire. The NDC’s Tolon Constituency Communication Officer, Abubakari Fuseini Oluu, confirmed the casualties, stating, “We lost one person, and another is critically injured.”
