Popular Ghanaian comedian and comic actor, Clemento Suarez has subtly Jabbed Child Rights over Akuapem Poloo prison sentence.
The Accra Circuit Court on Friday, April 16, 2021, slapped Akuapem Poloo a 90-day sentence for posing nude with her then seven-year-old son to mark his birthday.
This was after she pleaded guilty to three charges brought against her by prosecutors.
A #FreeAkuapmPoloo movement has been started on social media, with celebrities lending their voices to the advocacy.
In reaction, Clemento Suarez encouraged Poloo and assured her she would come out even stronger.
According to the him, the case of Poloo is also a lesson for every Ghanaian especially those who have the notion that the laws in Ghana are not working.
He also pleaded with President Akufo-Addo to pardon the actress since he pardoned three people who were sentenced for threatening a judge.
He then described the move by the NGO behind Poloo’s prison sentence as a “great job,” after congratulating them.
He also remained them of the good gesture the actress did for a child who was sleeping on the street recently.
“I strongly want to believe that child also has some rights in the country. It will be good to know what the rights of that child are and why he is on street and why Child rights doesn’t cover him or why that posted escaped you,” he quizzed.
