Ghana Police Arrest 26 for Public Misuse of Toy Guns

The Ghana Police Service has apprehended 26 individuals for brandishing and indiscriminately firing toy guns in a public area. The suspects are currently assisting with investigations and are expected to be arraigned before court.

In a statement released on Monday, the police confirmed the recovery of a number of toy guns as part of the ongoing probe into what they described as a growing trend in certain parts of the country.

According to the police, such actions constitute offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace, a violation of Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). They emphasized the seriousness of the offense and urged the youth to desist from such activities.

The Ghana Police Service has called on citizens to support efforts to curb such disturbances and maintain a peaceful environment nationwide.
