The Ghana Police Service has apprehended 26 individuals for brandishing and indiscriminately firing toy guns in a public area. The suspects are currently assisting with investigations and are expected to be arraigned before court.

In a statement released on Monday, the police confirmed the recovery of a number of toy guns as part of the ongoing probe into what they described as a growing trend in certain parts of the country.

According to the police, such actions constitute offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace, a violation of Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). They emphasized the seriousness of the offense and urged the youth to desist from such activities.
