Ghana Needs an Upgrade not a Reset – Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has responded to John Dramani Mahama’s recent call for a “reset” of Ghana. During the NDC’s manifesto launch, Mahama urged voters to choose him to bring about significant change, claiming that the country is “bleeding” and in desperate need of a reset.

In a media engagement on Sunday, August 25, Dr. Bawumia countered Mahama’s statement, arguing that what Ghana truly needs is an upgrade, not a reset.

He emphasized that his vision for the country is focused on modernization and improvement, rather than starting from scratch.

“I represent the future, Ghana needs an upgrade, not a reset,” Bawumia stated. He went on to outline 14 key commitments he plans to undertake if elected in the 2024 elections. These include sustaining and expanding Ghana’s rebounding economy, creating new jobs, implementing extensive tax reforms, and transforming Ghana into a world-class digital economy.

Bawumia’s commitments also cover a wide range of areas, such as reducing the cost of living, expanding public infrastructure, providing better healthcare, implementing Affirmative Action for girls and women, ensuring good governance, caring for the elderly, and expanding educational opportunities.

Additionally, he pledged to protect Ghana’s borders and ensure the safety of its neighborhoods.
