Ghana has moved up one place in the latest FIFA rankings, marking their first upward shift since July 2024, when they advanced from 64th to 60th position.
The Black Stars now hold the 76th spot globally after being ranked 77th since November 2024.
This improvement comes on the back of Ghana’s strong start to the 2025 international football calendar during the recent break. The team secured victories over Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, their first wins since defeating the Central African Republic in June last year.
Ghana’s rise in the rankings sees them overtake Israel, who have dropped two places.
Despite the progress on the global stage, Ghana’s standing in Africa remains unchanged, as they continue to occupy the 14th position on the continental ranking.
Head coach Otto Addo will be looking to further boost Ghana’s ranking when the team returns to action later in the year.
