Ghana Black Stars Struggle Again in International Friendly, Settle for 2-2 Draw Against Uganda

In their second international friendly game in Morocco, Ghana’s Black Stars faced off against the Cranes of Uganda in a tightly contested match that ended in a 2-2 draw. The Black Stars took an early lead in the 7th minute when Jerome Opoku headed home a corner kick from Jordan Ayew. However, Uganda equalized from the spot in the 23rd minute, before Jordan Ayew converted a penalty in the 28th minute to restore Ghana’s lead. The first half ended with Ghana ahead 2-1.

The second half was relatively quiet, with Ghana’s Joseph Wollacott making some crucial saves. However, in the 82nd minute, a defensive error led to Uganda’s equalizer, resulting in a 2-2 draw. Adding to Ghana’s woes, players Alidou Seidu and Mohamed Salisu were sent off during stoppage time.

This match comes on the heels of Ghana’s 2-1 loss to Nigeria in their first friendly match. The draw against Uganda marks the 7th consecutive game in which the Black Stars have played without a win.

The second coming of coach Otto Addo seems to be unfortunate, as he has now gone two games without a win. Otto Addo previously led the Black Stars to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where they only managed to win one game against South Korea. His return has not yielded the desired results so far, and there will be increased pressure on him to turn things around for the team.
