Ghana Armed Forces Assures No Military Presence at Polling Stations

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has reiterated its role in maintaining peace during the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, emphasizing that no military personnel will be stationed at polling stations.

Instead, the Ghana Police Service (GPS) will lead election security efforts, with the military providing standby support only when requested by the police to maintain order.

To ensure transparency, GAF has urged citizens to report any individual impersonating a military officer or wearing military-patterned attire at polling stations. Reports can be made to the nearest police station or through the GPS toll-free lines: 18555 or 0800 311 311.
