GES Releases Funds to Cover 2025 WASSCE Practicals Nationwide

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released funds to all Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) across the country to fully cover the cost of the 2025 WASSCE practical examinations.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Saturday, July 27, and signed by the Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi. It reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to supporting students and easing the financial burden on parents and guardians during the examination period.

According to the statement, the funds are designated for the procurement of all necessary materials and logistics needed for the smooth conduct of the practical aspects of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). This includes supplies for science, technical, and vocational practicals set to commence in the coming weeks.

“The release of the funds is to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated examination process that enables students to focus on their academic work, while relieving parents and guardians of any such financial burden,” the statement said.

GES has strongly urged regional, district, and school authorities to use the funds strictly for their intended purpose. Management also cautioned that it will be closely monitoring how the funds are disbursed and utilised to ensure transparency and accountability.

“Authorities must ensure the due application of the funds to guarantee efficiency and accountability. Management will continue to monitor the utilisation processes to ensure compliance and to maintain high standards in the administration of the examination,” the statement added.
