The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that Friday, March 7, 2025, will be a holiday for all schoolchildren nationwide, following the 68th Independence Day celebrations.

The decision aims to give students a well-deserved break after their active participation and preparations for the national event. The GES emphasized the importance of allowing children to rest and recharge before resuming academic activities.

All schools are expected to resume regular classes on Monday, March 10, 2025. Parents and guardians have been urged to take note of the holiday and make the necessary arrangements for their children.

In a statement, the GES apologized for any inconvenience caused by the short notice and expressed gratitude for the cooperation of parents, teachers, and all stakeholders.

The 68th Independence Day, held under the theme “Reflect, Review, Reset,” featured cultural performances, a military guard of honor, and a presidential address at the Jubilee House. The holiday is seen as a way to acknowledge the efforts of schoolchildren who contributed to the celebrations.
