The Ghana Education Service (GES) has moved the reopening date of first-year Senior High School students to Thursday, March 18 through to Sunday, March 21.
The Deputy Director-General, K. B. Tandoh, said the postponement of the reopening is to give students who have had issues with self-placement time to complete the process.

He added that others who have not completed their school’s admission process would also get the opportunity to do so with the extra time given.
The GES in a statement also added that the rescheduling will help parents adequately prepare for their kids before school reopens.
“Management had decided that the reopening of schools for first-year students should be rescheduled for Thursday, March 18 through to Sunday March 21, 2021,” the statement noted.
Serious academic work will however begin on Monday, March 22, in all schools.
