Aisha Huang, commonly referred to as the ‘Galamsey Queen,’ has been convicted of all charges leveled against her by the state.

The state’s prosecution, represented by security and intelligence officers, accused Aisha Huang of gaining notoriety for her involvement in illicit small-scale mining activities, commonly known as ‘galamsey,’ throughout the country.

The prosecution outlined that Aisha had previously evaded arrest in 2017 by leaving the country but allegedly resumed illegal mining upon her unauthorized return.

Aisha Huang faced four charges, including operating mining activities without a valid license, facilitating unlawful engagement in mining, employing foreign nationals illegally, and entering Ghana despite being prohibited from re-entry.
