
The King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, Ga Mantse, held a brief interaction with King Charles III during the 2026 Commonwealth Day celebrations in London on March 8.
Footage from the event showed the two monarchs meeting and exchanging pleasantries on the sidelines of the celebrations.
The meeting occurred during activities linked to the Commonwealth of Nations, where Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey recently assumed office as Secretary-General.

The participation of the Ga Mantse placed Ghana’s traditional leadership on the global stage, bringing together key leaders and dignitaries from across the Commonwealth.
His interaction with King Charles III highlighted the growing role of traditional authorities in cultural diplomacy and international engagement.
The gathering also attracted several high-profile leaders, including Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs; Sabah Zita Benson, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Ireland; and Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, who attended with his queen, Olori Ivie Atuwatse.
Also present was Alexander Williams, Jamaica’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, alongside other diplomats and leaders from across the Commonwealth community.
The Ga Mantse’s presence at the celebrations was seen as an opportunity to deepen cultural exchange, strengthen diplomatic ties, and promote Ghana’s cultural heritage on the international stage.
