Four Ghanaian Athletes Qualify for 200m Semifinals at African Games 2023

Team Ghana has secured four spots in the semifinals of the men’s and women’s 200m event at the ongoing African Games.

Janet Mensah secured her spot in the women’s event with an impressive time of 23.75 seconds, winning her heat convincingly.

In the men’s event, Joseph Amoah (20.91s) and Ibrahim Fuseini (21.02s) dominated their respective heats, securing their places in the semifinals. Solomon Hammond (21.32s) also performed well, finishing second in his heat and earning a spot in the next round.

The women’s semifinals are scheduled to start at 16:45 GMT, followed by the men’s semifinals at 17:10 GMT. The Ghanaian athletes are poised to make their mark in the upcoming races, aiming for strong performances and possible podium finishes at the African Games.
