A devastating fire has destroyed three girls’ dormitories at Labone Senior High School in Accra, causing significant damage to school property.
Emergency services, including the Ghana National Fire Service, responded swiftly to the scene and worked tirelessly to contain the blaze. However, the fire had already inflicted considerable destruction before being brought under control.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but preliminary reports indicate that it broke out while students were attending afternoon prep.
Out of the six dormitories, three were affected—one completely destroyed and two others sustaining partial damage. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the affected students have been temporarily relocated to the school’s assembly hall as authorities assess the extent of the damage and make arrangements for their accommodation.
