Elon Musk and thousands of users on X, formerly known as Twitter, took to the platform to mock Meta as its popular social media apps Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger experienced a widespread outage on Tuesday morning.

The outage, which began around 10:20 am ET, led to an influx of users sharing memes and jokes about the situation. Musk joined in on the fun by sharing a tweet from Meta communications boss Andy Stone, highlighting the outrage, overlaid onto a photo of three penguins with Meta company logos saluting a penguin with an X logo.

According to DownDetector, more than 200,000 Americans experienced issues with Facebook, with another 30,000 struggling with Messenger, and 8,000 battling to get Facebook Messenger to work.
