Election 2024: Police Places GH¢20,000 Bounty on Persons Threatening Election Violence

The Ghana Police Service has announced a GH¢20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of individuals captured in a viral video allegedly threatening violence ahead of the December 7 general elections.

The suspects, identified as members of the “NDC Youth of Obuasi,” reportedly violated Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). A police statement released on November 15 indicated that their actions were unlawful and warranted immediate investigation.

Despite launching a coordinated operation, the police have yet to apprehend the suspects, who include Fuseini Yahuza, Bernard Ahedor, Simon, Basit, and Musa Yakubu, also known as Agya Musah, along with their accomplices. All identified individuals remain at large.

In an updated press statement issued on Sunday, November 24, the Police Service appealed to the public for assistance. Citizens with credible information are encouraged to contact the police through the dedicated hotline, 0547927272.

The statement reaffirmed the police’s commitment to maintaining peace and order as the country approaches the general elections. “We urge the public to remain calm as we intensify efforts to bring these suspects to justice and ensure safe and secure communities for all,” the statement emphasized.
