Edinson Cavani has finally reacted to speculation that he’s set to quit Manchester United at the end of the season as he insists that he is ‘proud’ to wear the club’s shirt.
There were reports on Monday that the Manchester United forward is eyeing a move to Boca Juniors this summer as he had struggled to settle at Old Trafford.
The Striker’s father in a recent interview revealed that Edinson Cavani was unhappy at his treatment by the Football Association who suspended the Uruguayan for an ill-judged social media post earlier this season.
”My son does not feel comfortable in England and wants to be close to the family again.” Luis Cavani disclosed.
“Edinson is going to end up playing in South America. I want Edinson to play in a team that fights for something important.
Edinson had many conversations with Juan Roman Riquelme (Boca vice-pesident) and he would like to play for Boca’ he added.
However, Edinson Cavani has rubbished claim that he could leave Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Taking to Instagram after his father’s comments, Cavani revealed that he is proud to play for the red devils.
‘Proud to wear this shirt’ Cavani wrote.
The post was accompanied by a handshake emoji and Cavani tagged Manchester United.
