The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has published the ballot statistics for the upcoming 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections. This announcement was made through a statement signed by Deputy EC Chairperson, Samuel Tettey, on Monday, October 14, 2024.
According to the EC, the calculations are based on the total number of voters on the Provisional Voter’s Register (PVR), with an additional two percent added to account for any increase in voter registration or turnout. This proactive step is intended to avoid any ballot shortages on election day.
While the EC is encouraging a high voter turnout, it acknowledges that not all registered voters may cast their ballots. The published statistics will help ensure the smooth printing and distribution of ballots ahead of the elections.
