East Legon: Police Arrest 10 Suspected Landguards in Adjirigano

The East Legon Police have arrested ten individuals suspected of engaging in landguard activities in the Adjirigano area. The suspects, identified as Harry Otu Hesse, Khalid Adnam, Tahiru Yakubu, Awudu Salifu, Michael Laryea, Theophilus Mensah, Mustapha Awudu, Kwetey Aryettey, Salifu Moses, and Ibrahim Musah, were apprehended during a police operation following a complaint by Nuumo Borketey Laweh XXXIII, the Gborbu Wulomo, a landowner affected by the alleged activities.

According to the police, the suspects were involved in harassing clients and disrupting construction work on properties sold for development. The accused allegedly confiscated tools and obstructed workers on the sites.

An intelligence-led operation conducted by the East Legon Police on August 28, 2024, led to the arrest of the suspects at Adjirigano 69. During the operation, cutlasses and other materials were seized from the suspects.

The ten individuals are currently in police custody, have provided their statements, and have been arraigned.
