The Ghana Police Service has arrested Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, the parents of Elrad Salifu Amoako, a 16-year-old suspect involved in a tragic accident in East Legon.
The accident, which occurred on 12th October 2024, claimed the lives of two children, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, both aged 12.
According to the police report, the incident happened when the suspect, driving a Jaguar SUV with registration number GN 7801-20, collided with a 4×4 Acura vehicle driven by Joseph Ackah on Mensah Wood Street, East Legon.
The crash left the two children dead, while three other passengers in the Acura sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Jaguar and his companion were also rescued and are receiving medical attention. Meanwhile, the suspect’s parents are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, visited the bereaved family to express condolences and also checked on those injured.
The police have assured the public of a thorough investigation to bring closure to the families affected.
