The National General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah famed as General Mosquito has charged the NDC MPs in Parliament to resist any oppression over the e-levy saga.
The e-levy has become a central topic for discussion in Ghana since the Government through the Ministry of Finance proposed the electronic transaction tax during the last year’s budget for 2022.
Many Ghanaians have expressed their displeasure since the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, announced the government’s decision to introduce the electronic transaction levy.
Many have taken to social media to chastise the move and have described the policy to loot the average Ghanaian of the little income he makes.
Speaking at a media briefing, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah said the NDC will not allow any form of impunity to continue in Parliament.
He added that even if it will take exchanging blows to settle matters in Parliament they are ever ready to do it to resist the oppression of the Majority.
General Mosquito continued that the government led by President Nana Akufo-Addo has overshadowed the constitution from working, hence he dictates what should be done.
