Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, an aspirant for the flag bearer position in the NPP, has pledged to support the candidate elected to lead the party in the 2024 general election if he doesn’t receive the nomination.
He emphasized that the November 4 presidential primaries are aimed at selecting a candidate to represent the party in the December 7, 2024, polls, and that unity within the party is crucial. Dr. Akoto, a former Minister of Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, received 36 votes in the NPP’s Super Delegates Conference on August 26.
He expressed gratitude to the delegates for the opportunity and urged his supporters to work towards his victory on November 4, 2023. Dr. Akoto highlighted his commitment to the NPP’s welfare and ideals through his service to the party, which he believes endears him to the party’s delegates.
