Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Reacts To #FixTheCountry Saga With A Long Post; Says They’ve Been Fixing The Problems Since 2017

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that the job of the Akufo-Addo administration is to fix problems of the country including rising unemployment among the youth.

“This is what we have been doing since 2017,” he stated in a Facebook post sighted by Ghanaarticles.com.

The vice president’s comments come on the back of a social media campaign by some unhappy Ghanaians over what they say is the failure on the part of successive administrations to improve the lives of the citizenry through the hashtag ‘#FixTheCountry’.

Tens of thousands of posts have been made on social media highlighting some of the challenges with the Ghanaian economy.

The angry youth threatened to demonstrate on Saturday, 9 May to pile pressure on the government to fix the country.

Dr. Bawumia listed a number of problems the Akufo-Addo administration inherited from the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration and fixed in its four and half years in government.

He said, “…it is very important to place the performance of our government over the last four years after inheriting an economy with ‘no meat on the bone’ on record.”
