Court Issues Injunction on Democracy Hub’s Planned 3-Day Demonstration

An Accra High Court has placed an injunction on the upcoming 3-day demonstration organized by the pressure group, Democracy Hub.

The protest, originally scheduled to take place from September 21 to 23, 2024, has been halted following concerns raised by the Ghana Police Service regarding the proposed venue—the frontage of Jubilee House.

The court order, issued on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, prohibits the group from proceeding with their demonstration.

The Police argued that the location posed security concerns, prompting the court to take action ahead of the planned protest.
