Residents of Zenu, New York, and Atadeka, suburbs of Ashaiman in the Greater Accra region, have taken to the streets to protest against the deplorable condition of their roads. Frustrated by the lack of action, these residents have resorted to blocking the roads, causing inconvenience to drivers and commuters who are now stranded. The protesters, led by a group called the Concerned Citizens of Ashaiman, are demanding urgent repairs and rehabilitation of all the community roads.
According to some of the protesters who spoke to Radio Ghana, their previous complaints and appeals to have the roads fixed have all fallen on deaf ears. They feel that their only option now is to engage in protests to make their voices heard.
The deteriorating state of the roads in Zenu, New York, and Atadeka has caused significant inconvenience and poses risks to the residents.
