The Black Starlets of Ghana continued their impressive performance by securing a 2-0 victory against Benin, advancing to the semifinals of the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship.
Despite several mistakes from Ghana’s goalkeeper, who often found himself in tricky situations, his resilience and confidence to keep trying were evident.
The Black Starlets’ dominant play was evident as they took a 2-0 lead within the first 20 minutes.
Ghana’s performance in the tournament has been stellar, with the team scoring seven goals in two games while conceding only once. With this win, they have secured their place in the knockout stage of the WAFU Zone B U-17 tournament.
To qualify for the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Ghana needs to reach the finals, as only the two finalists will secure spots. Along with Ghana, Cotê d’Ivoire has also advanced to the semifinals.
Group B’s standings, involving Burkina Faso and Nigeria, will be decided on Wednesday, with both teams currently in strong positions.
