Coach Nora Hauptle of the Black Queens remains hopeful and confident in her team’s ability to stage a comeback in the second leg of the 2024 Paris Olympic Qualifiers against Zambia.
Despite a 1-0 loss in the initial encounter, Hauptle maintains faith in her team’s potential to secure qualification for the next stage.
The Black Queens are set to clash with Zambia’s Copper Queens in the third round of the Olympic Games qualifiers, with the upcoming match scheduled at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
Despite Zambia’s Rachael Kundananji netting a remarkable goal in the first leg, Coach Hauptle views the second leg as an opportunity for redemption.
“Regrettably, we couldn’t deliver in the first leg against Zambia, but we have another chance in the second leg,” remarked Coach Nora Hauptle, expressing confidence in the team’s prospects and emphasizing the importance of scoring a goal to ignite a turnaround.
“I believe that once we find the net, momentum will swing in our favor, propelling us to victory and paving the way for the fourth round against Morocco in April,” Hauptle added optimistically, envisioning a packed stadium at the Accra Sports Stadium for subsequent rounds.
The Black Queens are determined to bounce back from their first-leg defeat and secure a convincing win to advance in the Olympic qualifiers. Arriving in Ndola on Saturday for the return fixture, the team is eager to showcase their resilience and determination against Zambia.
Despite the setback in the initial encounter, Swiss tactician Nora Hauptle, who assumed the coaching role in January 2023, has overseen an impressive record of 10 wins in the last 12 games. The Black Queens are poised to demonstrate their strength and resolve in the upcoming fixture against Zambia.
