The Black Queens have landed in Casablanca, Morocco, ahead of their crucial international friendly against the Atlas Lionesses on Friday, February 21, 2025.
This match marks the first official assignment for new Head Coach Kim Lars Björkegren, offering the Swedish tactician an early chance to evaluate his squad and introduce his tactical approach.
Ghana’s team departed Accra on February 15 for a 10-day training tour, aimed at strengthening team chemistry and refining tactics.
Björkegren, who announced his squad shortly after his appointment, has opted for a blend of experience and new talent, with only four players selected from the Ghana Women’s Premier League.
The first training session is set for Monday, February 17, as the team intensifies preparations for the match. With 18 players already in camp, more arrivals are expected in the coming days.
The friendly match against Morocco will serve as an important test as the Black Queens embark on their journey towards the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
