Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has promised to construct a sea defence system and a mini harbour for Sege if elected President of Ghana.
This pledge aims to tackle the recurring devastation caused by tidal waves in the area and boost economic growth by improving infrastructure for the local fishing industry.
During a tour of the Greater Accra Region, Bawumia addressed chiefs, traditional leaders, and residents of Sege, stressing the town’s strategic importance as a fishing hub.
He emphasized that the construction of a mini harbour would modernize the fishing industry, enhancing trade and market opportunities for fishermen and traders.
In addition, the sea defence project would help safeguard the livelihoods of the coastal community, providing protection against the effects of tidal waves.
Bawumia assured the people of Sege that he is committed to delivering these essential projects to support the town’s development and economic prosperity.
