Bawumia Leads Mahama in Crucial Swing Constituencies – Outcomes International Report

Recent findings from Outcomes International on Ten Swing Constituencies indicate a significant shift in support towards New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in key constituencies crucial for electoral victory in Ghana.

According to the report, based on a survey conducted among 977 respondents in Greater Accra, Central, and Bono regions from February 10th to 25th, 2024, Dr. Bawumia holds a slight advantage over National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer and former President, John Dramani Mahama.

The analysis shows that Dr. Bawumia commands 43.5% support, slightly edging out Mr. Mahama’s 42.1%. The remaining 6.9% expressed support for other candidates, while 7.4% remained undecided during the survey period.

The report highlights a competitive landscape, with Dr. Bawumia emerging as a front-runner in pivotal constituencies. While Mr. Mahama leads in Ablekuma Central, Adentan, Ledzokuku, and Awutu Senya West, Dr. Bawumia is ahead in La Dadekotopon, Cape Coast North, Twifo-Atti Morkwa, Dormaa West, and Jaman North.

THIS IS TRENDING:

Despite previous polls favoring John Mahama, Dr. Bawumia has made significant progress in narrowing the gap, particularly after unveiling his vision for Ghana.

With the election approaching, the campaign is expected to intensify as both candidates seek to secure more ground and emerge victorious in the 2024 General Elections.

It’s worth noting that a similar survey by the Centre for Sustainable African Development Initiatives (C-SADI), UK, and The Outcomes International, Ghana, predicted a clear victory for Bawumia in the NPP’s flagbearership race in polls conducted on August 27 and November 4 last year.
