Barcelona vice-president Jordi Cardoner has revealed that the 500,000 euros earned from ceding the rights to the Camp Nou this season will go towards research against coronavirus.
Cardoner also noted that Camp Nou naming rights will be yielded beyond this season, but they will look to continue initiatives like the one shown this year.
“[The donation] is to make possible the Kids Corona study on the affectation of the virus in children and pregnant women, which is being carried out brilliantly by the Sant Joan de Deu’s research teams,” Cardoner said during the presentation of a study at the Hospital Sant Joan de Deu.
“The rest of the seasons during which we will link up with the sponsor, there will always be a part of participation that can be channelled through the Foundation. It will be destined to social purposes.
“We have talked to many and we are in an important grid of six or seven with a proposal. We are making a tailor-made suit because it is something that is very sensitive.”
