Nine individuals, including former Asokore Mampong Municipal Chief Executive Alidu Seidu, have been granted bail by the Kumasi High Court over their alleged involvement in a land fraud scheme at Buoban in the Ashanti Region.
The accused persons are alleged to have conspired to unlawfully sell a 10.54-acre parcel of government land reserved for the construction of a community hospital at Buoban. Prosecutors claim they also falsified official land documents to facilitate the transaction.
Each of the accused was granted bail in the sum of GH¢800,000 with three sureties, who must justify the bail with landed property.
The suspects face 12 charges, including conspiracy to falsify land records, falsification of land records, fraudulent breach of trust, abetment of crime in the alleged unlawful sale of public land, conspiracy to commit crime, unlawful occupation of public land, and possession of forged documents.
Meanwhile, two additional suspects — the Kenyasehene and the Odikro — who are also implicated in the case but failed to appear before the court, have had bench warrants issued for their arrest.
The case has been adjourned to March 12, 2026.
