During a live TV interview on Oyerepa TV on Monday, March 25, 2024, Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah struggled to name five projects undertaken by his party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for the region’s residents.
When asked about the projects, Osei-Mensah initially mentioned four, including the Zipline project in Mampong, developments at Bosomtwe Girls, plans for airport improvements by April’s end, and a baby and mother unit commissioned by “Auntie Rebecca.” However, he fell silent and could not provide additional projects when pressed further.
Earlier, the minister had challenged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to list ten legacy projects they had initiated in the Ashanti Region. However, Osei-Mensah’s inability to list his own party’s projects in detail raised questions about his knowledge of their accomplishments.
