Ashanti Region: Five Dead, Including Two Police Officers As Bullion Van Crashes With A Kia Truck

A fatal road accident at Adanwomase in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region has claimed the lives of five individuals, including two police officers.

The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, following a head-on collision between a bullion van and a Kia truck.

According to eyewitness Bright Ntem, the crash happened as the bullion van attempted to overtake another vehicle while ascending a hill. The overtaking maneuver led to a direct collision with the oncoming Kia truck, resulting in multiple fatalities.

The two police officers who were providing security escort for the van were among those who lost their lives on the spot. Emergency responders arrived swiftly, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.

Authorities have yet to release the identities of the deceased, while efforts continue to piece together the events leading to the collision.
