Former Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan has shed light on long-standing rumors of a feud between him and fellow Ghanaian footballer Andre Ayew. According to Gyan, the tension between them was fueled by individuals with “personal interests.”
The two players, who represented Ghana at major international tournaments such as the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups, have often been perceived as rivals. However, during an Instagram Live session, Gyan dismissed claims of animosity, emphasizing that Ayew genuinely cares for him.
“Andre is a good person. He has that genuine love for me, but he has been brainwashed because it benefits people,” Gyan explained.
He further stated, “That is what has brought the so-called rivalry. Me, I am not a rival to anyone.”
Gyan’s comments aim to set the record straight, highlighting the role external influences played in creating the perception of a strained relationship.
