Appointees Will Declare Assets Within 30 Days – Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, has reiterated his dedication to transparency and good governance, promising that all his administration’s appointees will declare their assets within 30 days of assuming office. Speaking at the NDC Governance Forum in Accra on October 31, Mahama highlighted accountability as essential to his agenda.

“To restore public trust, I will require all members of my administration to declare their assets within 30 days of assuming office,” he asserted, presenting this as a critical step toward rebuilding confidence in public leadership.

Citing a recent Afrobarometer survey that revealed declining trust among Ghanaians in state institutions, Mahama outlined additional plans to revise the codes of conduct for public officials. He stressed the need for ethical leadership, professionalism, and responsiveness to public concerns.

“The recent Afrobarometer report reveals a worrying loss of trust in our institutions. We must work collectively to rebuild that trust,” Mahama remarked. His proposed reforms aim to ensure public officeholders display humility and dedication in serving the public.

Mahama’s initiatives reflect his vision for a transparent and accountable government, pledging that an NDC administration will focus on restoring trust and integrity within public institutions if elected.
