Apam Senior High School (SHS) has brought pride to Ghana by securing second place in the Time Trial Senior BottleSumo Classic category at the 2025 World Robofest Championships, held in the United States.
The competition, which saw top robotics teams from across the globe, ended with the Michigan Team (MI), USA, taking the top spot. However, the students from Apam SHS made a remarkable impact, demonstrating innovation, precision, and skill on the international stage.
The team—comprised of Gabriel Kofi Nkunim Acquah, Joseph Nyameyie, Acquah Elvis Ghartey, and Lordina Yeboah—earned their place at the world championships after emerging victorious in the national-level contest in Ghana.
Their journey to global recognition was made possible through determination and the continued support of the Ghana Education Service. They competed alongside other Ghanaian schools such as the Right to Dream Academy and Our Lady of Grace (OLAG), further solidifying Ghana’s growing presence in international STEM and robotics competitions.
The team’s outstanding performance is expected to ignite interest in robotics among Ghanaian students and inspire more schools to invest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.
