Another Person Arrested Over Murder of a Business Woman In Kumasi

The Ghanaian police have made another arrest in connection with the murder of 35-year-old Princess Afia Ahenkan near Sokoban Ampabame in the Ashanti Region. This latest arrest means that there are now two suspects in custody linked to the incident. Both Allister John, who was employed as a househelp by the victim, and James Anokye were apprehended as a result of a targeted intelligence operation conducted on September 14, 2023. These two suspects had fled with the deceased’s KIA Sportage private car, registered as GS 307-21, which they subsequently sold.

The stolen car has been located in Adenta, along with its documentation, and it has been seized at the Oyibi Police Station for further investigation. Efforts are being made to locate and apprehend the individual who purchased the stolen vehicle to aid in the ongoing inquiry.

The victim, who was also known as Afua Ahenkan or Princess Afua, suffered multiple stab wounds during an attack on September 11, 2023. The assailant carried out the attack while she was engaged in a phone call, and her desperate pleas for assistance prompted the person on the other end of the line to become suspicious and take swift action by rushing to her residence.

In the meantime, the deceased’s body has been placed in the morgue at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to preserve it and conduct an autopsy.
