The Late former president Jerry John Rawlings’ third daughter, Amina Agyemang Rawlings has revealed how the animals at home announced the death of their father.
According to Amina, the dogs gathered at his usual sitting spot at home and howled throughout the night until they were tired and eventually slept.

All this while, the family was oblivious to what was happening back at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where their father had been on admission.
Amina made this revelation in the farewell tribute by children read at her father’s funeral.
She disclosed that Rawlings was a deep lover of animals, and he inculcated this in all of his children so much so that they also grew to love animals.
She revealed further that her father’s love for nature made him grow his own Garden of Eden full of different kinds of animals that lived in harmony when they could have eaten each other.

“From Jack Parlance your rooster to the wild geese who still think they own your home, to your doves, hawks, and your many dogs to name but a few,” Amina disclosed in her reading.
