Ex-President John Dramani Mahama has told small-scale miners that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo disappointed them by stoping their work.
John Mahama said his Political rival,Nana Akuffo Addo, who is currently the president of Ghana, has failed his promise not to collapse to the work of small scale miners.
Speaking at a durbar of cocoa farmers and small-scale miners at Agona Amenfi on October 19,Mahama made a reference to the past, when Akuffo Addo placed an embargo on all small-scale mining activities in order to fish out the illegal miners, but on the low, some supporters of the New Patriotic Party have been permitted to continue mining.
He said, “President Akufo-Addo seizes excavators belonging to his opponents and gives them to his party people to engage in the trade.
“When we come to power we will retrieve all the missing excavators and give them back to their rightful owners.”
