The late founder and leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor, will be laid to rest today, Saturday, March 29, 2025, in her hometown of Ejuratia. The burial ceremony is expected to draw family members, political allies, and the general public who wish to pay their final respects to the outspoken politician and farmer’s advocate.
The final rites will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with dignitaries from various political backgrounds and community leaders expected to attend.
Akua Donkor passed away on October 28, 2024, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra, leaving behind a legacy of fearless political engagement and unwavering advocacy for farmers and women.
Throughout her political career, she was known for championing the rights of rural farmers and marginalized groups, ensuring their voices were heard at the highest levels of governance. As the leader of the Ghana Freedom Party, she carved a distinct path in Ghanaian politics, standing out with her bold and unconventional approach to leadership.
