Ahwoi Brothers Mourn Sister, Ama Adoma Bartels-Kodwo

Mrs. Ama Adoma Bartels-Kodwo, sister of the prominent Ahwoi brothers, has passed away, the family announced on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

She was the sister of Honourable Ato Ahwoi, Ambassador Kwesi Ahwoi, and Professor Kwamena Ahwoi—key figures in Ghana’s political and governance space. She was also a sister to Mrs. Efua Bram-Larbi and Mrs. Agnes Appiagyei-Dankah.

Mrs. Bartels-Kodwo was married to Ambassador Jonathan Paa Kow Bartels-Kodwo, a former Director of the Research Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration. The couple had three children: Mr. Paa Kow Bartels-Kodwo (USA), Ms. Nana Adwoa Bartels-Kodwo (UK), and Ms. Maame Efua Bartels-Kodwo.
