Ghana has been drawn into Group F alongside Angola, Sudan, and Niger for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
This grouping was announced following the draw held in Johannesburg on Thursday, July 4, 2025. The Black Stars were placed in Pot 1, designating them as one of the top 12 ranked teams on the continent. Other Pot 1 teams included Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Mali, Tunisia, Algeria, Cameroon, South Africa, and DR Congo.
The qualifying draw organized 48 teams into 12 groups of four. Each group’s top two teams will advance to the AFCON tournament, scheduled to be held in Morocco in December and January.
Group A features Tunisia, Madagascar, Comoros, and Gambia. Group B includes Morocco, Gabon, Central African Republic, and Lesotho. In Group C, Egypt will face Mauritania, Cape Verde, and Botswana, while Nigeria, Benin, Libya, and Rwanda are in Group D.
Group E consists of Algeria, Equatorial Guinea, Togo, and Liberia. Defending champions Ivory Coast are in Group G with Zambia, Sierra Leone, and Chad. Cameroon, a five-time AFCON winner, is in Group H with Namibia, Kenya, and Zimbabwe. Group I has South Africa, Uganda, Congo, and South Sudan.
Lastly, Group L will see Senegal competing against Burkina Faso, Malawi, and Burundi as they aim to reclaim their AFCON title.
