Businessman and philanthropist Emmanuel Aboagye, popularly known as Aboagye Contractor, has donated GH₵500,000 to support traders affected by the recent fire outbreak at the Adum Railways Market in Kumasi.

The devastating fire on March 20, 2025, destroyed goods worth millions of cedis, leaving traders stranded and in need of assistance. During a visit to the affected area, Aboagye Contractor handed over the donation to Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene, emphasizing the need for collective support.

“I urge the business community to also step in and help our brothers and sisters restart their businesses,” he stated, encouraging more donations to aid the victims’ recovery.

Dr. Amoakohene expressed gratitude for the generous support and assured traders that the government will take necessary steps to assist them. However, he noted that full reconstruction of the market will begin once Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, returns from his travels.
