Ablakwa Establishes GH¢100K Rent Fund to Support Akosombo Dam Spillage Victims

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has launched a GH¢100,000 emergency rent fund to aid victims of the Akosombo dam spillage.

The disaster, which occurred in October 2023, affected over 12,000 residents, many of whom are still struggling to find accommodation.

Ablakwa emphasized the urgency of the situation, noting that 1,360 constituents are still living in tents. He pledged that in his next term, he would prioritize the resettlement and compensation of all spillage victims, especially women and nursing mothers.

The MP made this announcement after submitting his nomination for the upcoming elections, reaffirming his commitment to addressing the long-term needs of the affected communities.
