Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has donated 100 wheelchairs to individuals with physical disabilities in his constituency.
The donation, made as part of Ablakwa’s post-election tradition, is a gesture of appreciation to his constituents for their overwhelming support.
In a Facebook post on Monday, December 16, Ablakwa expressed his gratitude, stating, “This weekend, I continued with my tradition of offering a little gesture of appreciation to my beloved constituents immediately after every election victory. Yesterday, I donated 100 wheelchairs to my special constituents.”
The MP highlighted that similar acts of gratitude had been extended in previous election cycles. Four years ago, he covered the medical bills of children at the Battor Catholic Hospital’s Children’s Ward.
Ablakwa secured a landslide victory in the recent elections, garnering 41,073 votes, equivalent to 93.12%. His closest opponent, Dr. John Savior Eleblu Yao of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), received 3,035 votes.
The MP assured his constituents of his continued commitment to improving their lives, vowing to enhance his service in the coming years.
