The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has strongly criticised the performance of the Black Stars following their 2-1 defeat to Germany national football team in an international friendly.

Reacting to the loss, Bagbin questioned the technical direction of the team, stating, “This cannot be Ghana. What happened yesterday is not coaching,” in remarks that reflect growing concern over the team’s recent form.

He made the comments during the launch of the 3rd edition of the Democracy Cup, where he expressed disappointment in what many see as a decline in the team’s performance.

The criticism comes shortly after the Ghana Football Association announced the dismissal of head coach Otto Addo, following back-to-back defeats to Germany and Austria.

With just weeks to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Black Stars now face mounting pressure to rebuild, improve tactical discipline, and restore confidence within the squad.

Bagbin’s remarks add to increasing public frustration, as fans and stakeholders call for urgent reforms to ensure the team remains competitive on the global stage.
